about
The Preview EP was originally released under my Questalix moniker (I know, I know). Since then, I've decided to pursue my musical endeavers under Paul Benjamin. I found the original masters for the album (thought I lost them in a computer crash, happy day!) and decided to repost it under my new name, so that all of my music is one place.

Track Name: Mistake
Lonely, so lonely, I run away from all
Chasing and catching, I slow to a crawl
Losing and weeping, crushed against my wall
Lonely, so lonely, come one, come all

Oh why me
Oh find me

'Cause my mistake, has finally caught me
My treatise on my dead pride
My mistake has finally found me
My dream, I say goodnight

Everyone falls down
But it's not the end
Everyone fall down
But forgiveness is near

To lose, to crash, to soak up the tears
To watch, to love, to never know the truth
I thought, I had, but I never really knew
I want, so bad, someone help me, save me, catch me from falling
Track Name: Stuck Awake
Another night
Another fight
Emotions falling out
Walls closing in
Fleeting memories
Of better times
Of love and laughter
Instead of assaulting disaster

The crime
Stepping in and out of time
One, two, three
The look
Was always trust that she forsook
Blink, blink, blink

She wishes she was far away
She wishes she was gone

Another day
Another way
To reason with the crime
To try to make it rhyme
Her eyes are red
And heavy with guilt
She thinks and her heart sinks
And she is assaulted

The life
Mother, sister, daughter, wife
Why, Why, Why
The death
Gone and with that one last breath
Out, in, out

She wishes she was far away
She wishes she could fly

She’s counting the sheep,
But she can’t sleep
Track Name: Retrospect
Home, where all your memories fade away
And you can't seem to feel life
And all the days are handed down
Already used before
You thought this temple seemed alive
Now all that remains here
Are broken shards of clay
Tulips made from wood

In retrospect, I didn't need to be here to survive
Reality can't reach inside this cage where I've come to hide
To save myself, I'd have to leave this safety far behin
Can't force my will, I need someone to teach me how to fly again
Track Name: Himself
Once it was painful trying
Now its perfect trust
once it was half salvation
Now the uttermost
Once it was ceaseless holding
Now He holds me
Once it was constant drifting
Now my anchor's cast

In Himself alone

Here you are, forever always, never leaving
By my side with love

Lost in grace, soaring higher, can't escape it
In Himself alone
Track Name: Please Save Me
Where will life lead me
Does Destiny know where to find me
This mystery is unnerving
And I can’t see the end

The dust of this road has gathered
My shoes are reaching worn out
My eyes are getting cloudy
My legs ache from effort

I just want to lay down
I just want to dream of paradise

I’m standing here at this crossroad
And I’m crying out, I’m shouting out, “save me”
Getting weary of living,
I’m giving out, I’m falling out please save me

This dirt stretches onward
Bordered by golden memories
Reaching up to sustain their life
They all died still and rooted

How I long to sleep among them
A slumber filled with nothing
But I still have a road to travel
There’s an end, and I will prove it

This life seems so hard
Can’t believe I tried this on my own

I’m standing here at this crossroad
And I’m crying out, I’m shouting out, “save me”
Getting weary of living,
I’m giving out, I’m falling out please save me.
If someone out there can hear me
Come and find me, from the wilderness save me
Finally able to say this,
“I am ready, I am willing so please save me.”
